Shahid Kapoor’s cross-connection with Vidya

Shahid Kapur and Vidya Balan surely connected well during the making of “Kismet Connection”. But their relationship did not last long and subsequently the two stopped speaking to each other.

More recently, in a candid interview with a Mumbai daily, without really naming him, Vidya even blasted Shahid for dumping her and the identity crisis her confused personal life put her through.

But filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj unknowingly got the two to speak with each other a few days back.

Vishal saw the promos of “Chance Pe Dance” and messaged Shahid appreciating him in the film. At the end of the message he put his initials as ‘VB’.

Vishal sent the message from his new number which Shahid did not have. Shahid thought VB was none other than Vidya Balan.

He immediately called Vidya and told her that rather than messaging she could have called to congratulate him. Vidya on the other hand was surprised and shocked and finally managed to tell Shahid that she never messaged him.

The good thing, however, was that this cross connection apparently got the two talking again.

Shahid Kapoor Shakes his legs for Lungi

Well, we can’t question Shahid ’s credibility as a dancer; the lad can shake his leg not just in denims but in a lungi as well. Yes, you can catch him doing a hottie-naughty dance in his next Chance Pe Dance.

The movie shows him as a struggler who wants to make it big in the film industry. This particular scene has Shahid shooting for a lungi ad. The set for the scene is designed in a 1980s style with all colourful pots and bright flags arranged in a row. Shahid Kapoor also flaunts a thick moustache and is dressed in a tacky yellow-coloured shirt and a deep blue lungi, as he shows some jhatkas-matkas.

As reported, the lungi brand has a funny name that came from director Ken Ghosh’s agile mind - ‘Airtime lungis.’

Shahid Kapoor ignores Amrita Rao

The grapevine is rife with rumours that Shahid Kapoor has ignored Amrita Rao's Twitter messages.Amrita Rao, who’s a close friend of Shahid was utterly disappointed when he didn’t give any reply to her posts on his profile.

A close friend of the star was quoted by DNA as saying: "Shahid was Amrita's co-star and close friend. He has not been responding to Amrita's Twitter messages in spite of his fans re-Tweeting him on his ignorance. Shahid was in touch with Amrita some time ago and no one knows what has transpired between them. Maybe they are texting each other privately, but Amrita is quite disturbed at this."

Well, it seems that Amrita is left wondering whether it’s the real Shahid or a fake profile holder to whom she is tweeting.

Shahid Kapoor needs extra bodyguards to keep girls away!

Everything comes with a price and Bollywood is no different! With two blockbusters ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Kaminey’ under his belt, dimpled actor Shahid Kapur is the current flavour of Bollywood. The cute looking actor whose next-door-boy looks can make girls go weak in knees is having a hard time in tackling his female fans as a result, Shahid wants extra bodyguards for all his shoots.

Recently, while Shahid was shooting with Anushka Sharma for Parmeet Sethi’s untitled flick under YRF banner in Bangkok, a bunch of Indian girls left the shy actor red faced by demanding him to remove his shirt! Talking to a news daily, a source said, "Shahid has a huge female fan following and is constantly mobbed at various places. At times it becomes too risky for him. Not wanting to cause any further problems, the actor has now asked for extra security."

"Usually, Shahid also has fans waiting outside his vanity van and they refuse to move till he meets them. This at times hampers the shoot schedule, disturbing not only Shahid but also the film unit. Now, Shahid wants a group of 5-6 bodyguards to be with him on the sets and also whenever he is shooting at an outdoor location where there is a greater risk of fans barging in on the sets," continued the source.

However, when contacted YRF, the media conglomerate downplayed the demand for extra security and said, "We haven`t got extra guards for the shoot. YRF does have adequate security for all its shoots at all times. Should an artiste ask for additional security, it will most certainly be provided. However, no additional security has been asked for during this shooting schedule

Shahid-Priyanka continue being close

Even though they are said to have split, Shahid and Priyanka seem to be good friends online. They never miss any opportunity to communicate with each other and even appreciate each other.In fact, they seem to be in no mood to hide their mutual admiration and still call each other by their pet names.

They also exchange messages on Twitter for the whole world to see.The first promos of Priyanka’s “Pyar Impossible” went on air recently and Shahid did not miss his chance to comment on them. He told Priyanka that she looks super in the film.

Priyanka responded to him and posted: “Thanks Shak, you in Chance Pe Dance looking rocking too!”

A feast for Shahid Kapoor fans!

Shahid Kapoor took his shirt off for a fleeting moment in “Kaminey” and caused many to lust. Now, he’s revealing much more of his eight-packs in his upcoming movie “Chance Pe Dance”.

Fans can feast on Shahid’s body which is on show in these stills from his next movie, scheduled to release on January 12, 2010.

Directed by Ken Ghosh and a UTV Motion Pictures production, “Chance Pe Dance” is the story of a talented and passionate young struggling actor called Sameer Behl (Shahid). Positive and brimming with energy, Sameer juggles various jobs while working towards getting his big break in the industry. During his struggle he meets Sonia Sharma (Genelia D’Souza) who is a choreographer.

Just when Sameer is promised his big break, he is left without a house as he cannot pay his rent. Not one to lose heart Sam starts living in his rickety old car and starts teaching dance in a school to young kids who have never won any dance competition. He hates kids and the kids hate dancing.

The struggle in life continues as the director who was to launch Sameer now decides to choose his hero through a talent hunt. Sam is shattered but he diverts his focus towards the kids. Getting over his initial dislike of children, Sam not only emotionally bonds with them, but also helps them win a prestigious inter-school dance competition and gets their confidence back - aided by the spirited and beautiful Sonia.

Tina urges Sameer to enter the reality hunt, with the love and support from Sonia and the kids, Sameer emerges a winner and eventually becomes what he was destined to be, a superstar.

Priyanka-Shahid ignore each other

Rumoured to be a hot couple in B-town once, Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor have kept their relationship well-guarded. Till date, the couple keeps everyone guessing about the status of their relationship.

As far as we can remember, there were reports that Shahid was upset with Piggy Chops’s drinking habit and thus cracks developed in their friendship. But then, we saw the two indulging in a little jig at the Rajiv Gandhi Award ceremony, and it made it evident that the two are more than happy to be in each other’s company.

The latest we hear is that the two refused to acknowledge each other’s presence at an event over the weekend. Through the night we noticed that they didn’t even look in each other’s direction. Sigh! Love has its ups and downs. We are still hopeful that the two are together.

We wonder if Priyanka is a habitual for now-on-now-off relationship? Remember poor chap Harman Baweja?

Shahid Kapoor is all set to do an Aamir Khan

Choreographer Ahmad Khan is back from the US after months’ shooting for a song with his best-friend Shahid Kapoor. And Ahmad just can’t stop singing his star-pal’s praises for the generosity Shahid showed in the US. The actor actually made sure Ahmad Khan’s kids got a long-cherished dream to come true. Says Ahmad fondly, “I had been promising my two sons Azaan and Subhan a trip to Disneyland for months. Earlier when we shot in the US for another Yashraj Film Bachna Ae Haseenon I kept hoping there would be time. But I couldn’t manage to get away. But this time, Shahid made sure it happened.”

Apparently Shahid not only ensured that Ahmad wrapped up his work as quickly as possible he made all the arrangements for Ahmad his wife Saira and two sons to take off for Disneyland.“And why not?” says Ahmad defensively. “Shahid and I are childhood friends. Before my mother held my sons Shahid took them in his arms. So it’s perfectly natural for him to look out for me and my family.”Recalling the fabulous experience Ahmed says, “Out of the one month I spent in the US only 12 days were devoted to shooting the song. It wasn’t even a dance song. It was a concept number showing the hero and his friends splurging and binging all over the US. We shot at casinos and at various pleasure and tourist spots in Philadelphia, Orlando, New York, New Jersey and Chicago.”

Shahid will now be seen in Ahmad Khan’s directorial project Pathshala. “In a 2-hour long film Shahid is there for an hour. So he’s there for 55 minutes. His role is like Aamir Khan’s in Taare Zameen Par. He comes in mid-way and yes, he’s the teacher. Both Shahid and I have decided to focus on the kids in the marketing rather than on Shahid.”

Shahid Kapoor fights for Priyanka Chopra

Shahid Kapoor can do anything for his ladylove Priyanka Chopra and he proved this while promoting his movie Kaminey radio station. Shahid and director Vishal Bhardwaj were at a chat show to talk about Kaminey when the jockey asked about Priyanka's role in the movie to which Shahid replied that it was basically a men's movie and Priyanka was the only women and that too she appeared in the second half.

The jockey then responded in a very raunchy manner and said it must have been very difficult for Priyanka to satisfy all the men alone. Shahid and Vishal could not believe that the jockey could say such a cheap thing and threatened to walk out of the show. After much apologies from the jockey and the producers the recording continued after the original one was deleted. This time around Vishal and Shahid were in no mood for a conversation and quickly left the studio.

Shahid wants stammer his way to success

Guess who Bajaaoed Malishka? None other than Shahid Kapoor. Shahid Kapoor made his first appearance at Red FM studios on the morning show today and accompanying him was filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj promoting their upcoming movie Kaminey. It all started with some friendly leg pulling with RJ Malishka calling Shahid, Fhahid imitating his accent in Kaminey where he plays a double role. Shahid shot right back and called her MaliFhka and the leg pulling continued with Shahid having a complete blast on air.

While stories of Shahid’s link ups might be doing the rounds, that didn’t deter the ladies who turned up in droves to meet their favorite star at the Red FM studios. Listeners from all over Mumbai were treated to a hilarious interaction between Shahid and Malishka where Shahid revealed some behind the scene gossip about his upcoming film and also shared a glimpse into his life at Versova. Guess who’s being termed as the most dangerous from Bollywood industry - Its Shahid Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. After winning the titles of the Sexiest Asian woman and Sexiest Lips, Katrina is now being tagged as the most dangerous as well.

Yes Katrina Kaif and Shahid Kapoor are said to be the most dangerous terms found on the internet, whose names when typed on the internet can lead to downloading of a virus. Its one of the famous anti-virus companies, McAfee claiming that typing “Katrina Kaif” as well as “Shahid Kapoor” on a search engine on the internet can lead to downloading of a virus, which in turn can lead to damaging the computer system. No wonder after all the break ups and patch ups with various Bollywood actors and actresses the duo have been much in demand.

However, this news of being in the list of ‘the most dangerous terms found on the internet’ has created some problems for the young lady’s ‘most googled actress’ image and also for Shahid’s glamorous reputation.

Priyanka and Shahid are Friends

Shahid Kapoor’s detractors (they know who they are) can surely eat their hearts out!

While they have to make public announcements saying that they have clearly moved on, the actor is silently but surely scaling new heights.

An internet search engine says he’s the “most searched guy’’ — even more than current hotties Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan; 68% of his fans are women; he has one of those designer-made, eight-pack physiques; he has four back-to-back releases —Vishal Bharadwaj’s Kaminey, Ken Ghosh’s Yahoo, his best buddy Ahmad Khan’s Paathshaala (it’s only a special appearance) and, Yash Chopra’s Hadippa with Rani Mukerji. “When I’m finished with these projects, I will start work on Parmeet Sethi’s next for Yash Chopra again with Anoushka Sharma (the Rab Ne girl),’’ says the reluctant talker who’s been completely off the media radar “simply because I feel work is all I should talk about’’.

Ok, we’ll start with talking shop. Is Parmeet Sethi’s film an extension of Dhoom 2, with some heavy dancing thrown in, as is being speculated? “No,’’ he says. “I can’t discuss the script or storyline right now, but it’s certainly not a Dhoom 2-like film as is being reported,’’ Shahid says.

Asked to tackle his own reputation of being the most “interfering’’ guy on a set, Shahid gamely explains, “Listen films are my raison de etre. On a set I am like a wired animal. I keep asking my director — can I come from the left or should I come to the right? Should I wear my shirt out or does it look better tucked in? Now if someone is going to report all this and equate my work queries as ‘insecurities or interference’... then what I am to say?’’

Currently this 28-year-old star is on pins and needles because his next release Kaminey comes with sky-high expectations. “Yup, Vishal Bharadwaj says my role is going to definitely surprise the audience. It is a hugely challenging role, very different from Jab We Met, and though JWM is the reason why Vishal signed me for Kaminey —both roles are poles apart.’’

Kaminey also brings with it the Priyanka Chopra romance angle; it is being extensively reported that the two lead stars of the film are dating each other. “I’m not left with much of a choice, am I?’’ asks Shahid. “I’m linked to all my co-stars. With Kismat Konnection it was Vidya Balan, now with Kaminey it is Priyanka.’’ Smiling, he adds, “Priyanka and I are good friends. However, people have been jumping the gun. If we take our relationship further, I may talk about it; but people are in a rush to link us together. I will not lie or hide a relationship but I will not stand on the rooftop and announce it either.’’

Ok, but will he at least confirm the last rumour that said he asked for Rs 18 crores for a film? “I will neither recognise nor reject that figure because I don’t wish to talk about my remuneration,’’ he says, adding, “My first film was made at a budget of Rs 3.50 crores; and now I’m being asked whether I charge six times that amount? The only thing that takes you forward in life is a hit. I definitely don’t wish to be short changed; but I don’t make unreasonable demands either.’’
